The Contour Palette lets you contour different parts of an object separately. In our example, the y-shaped object has two pieces in this image. Each of these pieces needs to be contoured separately. Make sure that the button is selected (contour #1). Select the Magic Wand tool, and click in the center of the left blue circle. A ring of green points should surround the circle. Now click on the button (contour #2). Click in the center of the right blue circle. Now a ring of red points should surround this circle. The two circles are now separate contours. We'll see how the two join together in a moment. Since this is the top of the object, we need to put a cap or lid on the two contours we have created. We do this by changing the cap button above each of the contour buttons from to . This is called a top cap, and it lets SURFdriver know that this is the top of the contour, and a cap should be placed on this end. Make sure both buttons ( and ) are set to top caps. We are now ready to go on to the next image. Click on the right arrow button at the top of the screen (next to the DONE button) to move on to the next slice. Using the Magic Wand tool and the Contour # buttons, contour the left circle in green (contour #1) and the right circle in red (contour #2), as before.
